Job Description

Microchip Technology is seeking a qualified intern to join our web development team in Marketing Communication organization. The intern will work closely with our development team, as well as the design and marketing team to assist in the development of coding and designing the layout and functionality according to the client’s specifications. This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of web development.

Job Requirements:
  • Responsibilities include adhering to user requirements with guided system functionality and implementing in various languages like Java, C#, SQL, HTML and JavaScript
  • Assist in writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
  • Assist in creating website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices.
  • Provide Assistance in integrating data from various back-end services and databases.
  • Assist in gathering and refining specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining software documentation.
  • Also assist in maintaining, expanding, and scaling sites.
  • Keep up to date into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
  • Collaborates with web designers to match intent of visual design.

Engineering Intern at Microchip Technology

Qualifications:
  • Working toward Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information systems engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in, at least, one programming language such C#, Java, and object-oriented design skills.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, Vu.JS, Node.JS and JavaScript
  • Fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented design, and algorithm design
  • Good understanding of SDLC flow. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices including unit testing.
  • Good knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL
  • Ability to understand and analyze functional requirements.
  • Good communication skills with work ethics
  • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
